One of our Professional Street Teamers reviews our James Bond concert!

After thinking about it for so long I finally attended a performance of the K/W Symphony - not a classical performance but a Pop performance - an evening of "Bond" music. I expected entertainment but nothing like the dynamic, personable and interactive experience that my date and I were treated to last Friday. Check out the video blog (first link below) of K/W Symphony's Principal Trumpet, Larry Larson, for his personal musings and insights on the program of this most unique musical evening. Conductor, John Morris Russell was ablaze with energy, ebullience and infectious enthusiasm for his musical subject - carrying away the lovely vocal accompaniest, Marcia Whitehead, in dance at one point. In a brilliant delivery employing sly humour and scintillating anecdote, Mr. Russell educates his audience to each musical piece in such a way that we feel like his friends and confidantes rather than the somewhat uninitiated plebeians of our inner fears. I'm already looking forward to my own encore performance with the Kitchener/Waterloo Symphony. Their 2010/11 Season has been published with something for everyone including the kids. Check out my second link below to their subscription information and everything you need to add some quality time to your schedule!
