Rach 3 Shostakovich 5 = Awesome!!

Ok, so this past weekend I attended the concert with Rach 3  and Shostakovich symphony 5.. and I must say I was quite thrilled with the performance, not to mention the hilarious height difference between Edwin and William Wolfram.. like wow!!!... though it probably explains why he can play Rach so well.. he is the right size for the composers style... or at least thats what my piano playing friends tell me.. Rach piano music needs BIG HANDS.... and I would say Wolfram had them for sure.. along with alot of height... to the point that from the balcony the piano looked mini... haha The Shostakovich of the entire 2nd half was in one word AWESOME... i must say that although I love my Mstislav Rostropovich version of the symphony nothing is better then hearing it live!... the Horn solos were awesome!! :D.. and overall I loved the Brass section.. they definitly accomplished the intensity of the symphony.. and the strings and woodwinds... particularly jim Mason solo's.... really captured the sweeter side of the symphony... All i can say is that i'm looking forward to more concerts of this caliber !!

yay for ramblings.. and school procrastionation!! :D..
